Terrorist attack outside my Window

As many of you know, my office building overlooks the Central Bus Station in Yerushalayim. At approximately 3:00pm I was listening to a shiur on Hilchos Leil HaSeder on my head phones whilst doing a transfer to production of a large web application when the whole building shook and I heard the sound of a loud blast even through the considerable insulation of my headsets.

Initially I thought nothing of it as there are many such blasts, maybe two or three times a week. They are blasting a kilometre underground, under our building in fact in order to construct a tunnel that will run from the new underground Central Train station in Yerushalayim to Tel Aviv.

But within 10 seconds I knew that this blast was different. People rushed to the window to see. With the windows open you could hear the screams of the injured and shocked and the shouts of the security services going into action. Within 15 seconds the screams were drowned out by the wailing of the sirens from a stream of Magen David Adom ambulances whose station is only a few hundred meters away as they rushed to the site of the peguah (terrorist attack). They drove on the wrong side of the dual carriage way as cars, buses and lorries swerved to the side to make room for them to pass. Within 5 mins there was a steady swirl of ambulances and police cars as they moved into the area and flowed out again with injured, rushing to the hospitals.

Ironically I had been not a few yards away from a chafetz chashud (an unidentified package) at a bus stop on the other side of my building at 12:15pm, less three hours before the real thing. I had gone out to get some lunch just as the bomb disposal team turned up and police blocked off the area for 20 mins. This time it was a kid who had forgotton his bag at the bus stop.

Whenever there is a peguah you immediately reach for your mobile phone and dial everyone in your family, even the ones who are supposed to be somewhere else. Being so close to the site of the terrorist attack, I managed to do this before the inevitable happens. 10 mins after a peguah the whole of the mobile phone network collapses under the strain and you receive the message “No Service Available – Please try again later”.

This time, the Orange network came back after about half an hour.

We have just heard on the news that the one dead victim was a British woman although it is as yet unclear if she was living here or a tourist.

The Daily Telegraph is reporting this news item.

The BBC doesn’t deem it worthy of any mention.

Today in the Daily Telegraph there was an opinion piece by MP Louse Bagshawe who has suddenly woken up to the blatant anti-Israel bias of the BBC.

Just read the comments below this article if yoru stomach can take it. One of them asks to know what the racial origin of teh MP is and if she is a Jewes! Others express the opinion that the Jews deserve being murdered as they stole the land from the Arabs who have been living there for 2,000 years! (sic).

But these were published below as comments to the article. This little ditty from Reuters was within their article about the terrorist attack, the text of which was also copied and used by hundreds of news outlets all around the world.

Reuters reported this:

(Direct quote including the double quotes:)

Police said it was a “terrorist attack” — Israel’s term for a Palestinian strike. It was the first time Jerusalem had been hit by such a bomb since 2004.

As I said, it was copied and used in many different news outlets.

Sky news initally quoted it but then deleted it from their web page.

Yahoo still has it on their web page.

That's it. That sentence has crossed a red line between Anti-Israel bias and out and out Jew hatred.

Now I've seen it all. There is no hope left for the British press.

There are still people in Britain who recognise the BBC for what it is

The British Blood-Libel Corporation

Reading the flood of talkback comments on the "B-BBC" site (a site dedicated to the bias of the BBC) indicates that there are still people in Britain who recognise the BBC for what they are: That is, no better than the Jew hating Nazis of the 1930s.

See the excellent piece here:

The B-BBC’s article analyses the BBC’s cynical use of quotes showing the BBC’s callous position that there is doubt as to the truth of the facts of this atrocity. This abuse of the noble English language confirms a blanket editorial position that Israelis (at least those who are not left wing loonies) cannot be believed or that the text in quotes is to be seen in an ironic context.

The BBC article is fit for the pages of a modern day "Der Sturmer".

Why does the BBC fail to mention the fact that Arabs in Gaza and the “Palestinian Authority” (correct use of quotes here) were openly celebrating the terrorist attack?

A Palestinian man distributes sweets in the streets of the southern Gaza Strip town of Rafah on March 12, 2011 to celebrate an attack which killed five Israeli settlers at the Itamar settlement near the West Bank city of Nablus. SAID KHATIB/AFP/Getty Images

Mahmoud Abbas’ “the moderate” (correct use of ironic quotes here) is praised by the BBC for his condemnation in English even though he did not condemn the atrocity in Arabic for local audiences.

So what was Abbas’ message to the Arab streets, totally ignored by the whole of the Western media? Abbas was actually at a naming ceremony for a square, named after a terrorist who murdered Jews whilst at exactly the same time, the Fogel family were being laid to rest.

See article in Haaretz amongst others:

Just one example of the BBC’s evil can be found in this paragraph:

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-middle-east-12725487

“The attack on the Fogel family has been met with outrage in Israel and has shocked many Palestinians. Israel suspects the attack was carried out by Palestinian militants.”

Not only does the BBC neglect to report the mass celebrations that took place in the Arab streets or the official dedication ceremony that took place yesterday but they have to insert this little lie:

“…shocked many Palestinians”

Exactly which Palestinians are these? Certainly not anyone speaking on the Arabic speaking media. Maybe they interviewed Joe Mohamed in the street? I doubt it. The BBC have quite obviously made this up and simply written this bit of wishful thinking without any basis in reality.

Not content with this, the BBC put the icing on the cake by saying that Israelis “suspect” the attack was carried out by “Palestinian militants”. Apparently the BBC is in some doubt as to who committed the atrocity even after Arab Terrorist organisations claimed responsibility for it.

I know that this next point has been made time and time again but I feel it must be continued to be made until the Western media stops its immoral use of the term. A “militant

Definition of the word “militant”: Someone who takes an aggressive position on any issue. Who has hard-line or hawkish policies. Those who favour extreme or confrontational campaign methods.

Is this what the BBC thinks is an extreme campaign method?

I could have used photos from Google Images of 3 month old baby Hadas’ head severed from her tiny body or the slit throat of four year old Elad but that's not necessary . It is more than sufficiently horrific simply sitting and looking at that tiny wrapped up body and realising that there are people in this world who are capable of such atrocities and that moreover, there are people who are capable of putting fingers on keyboards and describing this act as an act of a “militant”.

What kind of monstrous, immoral, inhumane and satanic organisation would call the perpetrators of these acts anything other than terrorists and murderers?

The answer is in three letter: B B C.

The Left wing: Inspired by Arab Terrorism

Dr. Gabriel Avital. Victim

They are blinkered religious fanatical zealots who refuse to question what they have been taught despite overwhelming scientific evidence.

They ignore basic scientific methodologies in reaching their conclusions, blindly accepting the words of charismatic religious cult style gurus who sell them myths in the form of facts. They then impose their views on all Israeli children, punishing those who show dissent.

Anyone who questions any aspect of their beliefs will be hounded, persecuted, discredited and victimised. They will use all their power to remove those who do not agree with them from any positions of influence.

I am of course talking about the ultra liberal secular directors of Misrad HaChinuch, the Israel ministry of Education.

This morning, YNET announced that the Misrad HaChinuch has dismissed the much respected Israel Chief Scientist, Dr. Gabriel Avital, for questioning the Global Warming Theory and suggesting that Darwinism be scrutinised just like any other scientific theory and not just accepted as fact!

The Israel ministry is following all the PC hip and cool beautiful people such as those at the BBC who also wish to present Global Warming and Darwinist theories as facts.

Melanie Phillips has been campaigning against this in Britain for years.

Only yesterday Melanie highlighted a disgusting video produced by the Global Warming lobby which shows school children who question Global Warming in school being executed by their teacher who blows them up with explosives, splattering their body parts, blood and guts all over the other pupils in class as a warning against dissension. The produces of the advertising campaign call it humour.

The BBC quotes a spokes person for the organisation:

Lizze Gillett, Global Campaign Director for 10:10, told the BBC: "As you can see from various comments and social media sites some people thought it was funny and a good tool to get people talking about climate change but others strongly disliked the mini-movie. We decided to take it off our website to avoid upsetting people. "

In the official campaign statement, the group said: "At 10:10 we're all about trying new and creative ways of getting people to take action on climate change. Unfortunately in this instance we missed the mark. Oh well, we live and learn."

Any Israelis watching this video will not fail to associate it with near identical scenes taken from the aftermath of terrorist suicide bombs in Israeli cafes and on buses. It looks very much as if the producers got their inspiration from such scenes of carnage here in Israel.

Here is the complete video. www.youtube.com/watch?v=VhLw6py869c

In order to avoid watching the whole thing I have taken the liberty of making snapshots of the main parts to show you the storyline.

The Teacher talks about Global Warming

She asks for a show of hands, all those pupils who are willing to reduce their "carbon footprint"

One boy is sceptical

A girl in class is unconvinced

The teacher deals with the problem...

...by murdering both children.

A subtle warning to the other pupils?

This is considered humour by the Global Warming Lobby.

What this horrendous video shows is that, in their heart of hearts, the ultra "Liberal" wants to exterminate all those who are against them or even question their beliefs. They have obviously been inspired by Arab terrorism.

Anyone, who did not fathom the close empathy and support of the Left wing for Fatach, Chamas and Chizbollah will I hope now comprehend the common ground which they share.

BBC Lies and the sound of chirping

The BBC (The British Broadcasting Con) reports today on the peril of the people in Gaza.

"The frustrated attempts by activists to sail boats like the Rachel Corrie to Gaza has thrown the spotlight on life inside the territory under Israel's blockade, as the BBC's Jon Donnison reports from Gaza City.
At the Gaza City port, dotted with small fishing boats, a young Hamas policeman dressed in black and with a Kalashnikov tucked under his arm, lent over and smiled.
"Are the Israelis going to let the ship the Rachel Corrie come?" he asked.
I told him it was unlikely. He offered me a resigned look, sucking through his nicotine-stained teeth."
Sounds as if Jon Donnison is practicing his writing skills for the next fictional TV drama production. Do they still have "Play of the Week" on British Television?

The whole piece falls apart however when you introduce some facts.

Israeli media is reporting that Hamas is preventing all the goods brought by the flotilla from entering the Gaza Strip via the land crossing with Israel. They said that if it hasn't come from the sea then they don't want it. Meanwhile, the goods are piling up in Tzrifin army warehouse.

This is surely a major news item which exposes the humanitarian disaster in Gaza as a complete hoax yet no one outside Israel is reporting it. Why?

Melanie Phillips shows photos of the markets in Gaza, packed with food and luxuries on her blog.

Meanwhile, bloggers around the world (such as lgf) are reporting that Reuters news Agency, who supply many of the photos to Western media have doctored the photos of the IDF soldiers being tortured by the Turkish "peace activists". They digitally removed much of the blood and in one case, removed the knife from one of the terrorist's hands.

Now why would they do that? If the major News Agency falsifies documents in such a blatant way, don't you think it deserves a few comments on your TV news or on the Internet pages of BBC, CNN, SKY etc?

Instead all you get is:

Lynching on the Mavi Marmara

Sometimes we Israelis think we are cleverer then everyone else and can ignore standard and proven procedures. The Israel Navy was forced to ignore standard practice carried out by all other Navies in dealing with boats trying to break through a blockade. They should have disabled the engines of these boats and then waited until the crews arranged their own voluntary evacuation.

According to many articles such as this on the YNET site "Predictable Israeli fiasco", it was reported that, on the direct orders of Ehud Barak, the Navy was told to evacuate the ships by non violent means only. Barak placed the IDF soldiers in an impossible situation. They were completely unprepared for what happened. It was a complete failure in intelligence (both the miltary and Barak's). Barak has caused a worldwide public disaster. Only time will tell what damage to the State this has caused. He has handed a propaganda gift on a silver platter to Hamas and all the hostile world media. Will Barak now resign? Will he be fired?

So, armed with paint ball guns of all things, the soldiers slid down a rope, one by one (the BBC described this as hundreds of troops "storming" the ships!), only to be beaten to within inches of their lives as soon as they set foot on the deck. Turkish TV edited out most of the beatings and made it look like it was an unprovoked attack against peace activists. The IDF however did not bring out their video clearly showing what actually happened until today, giving the terrorists free reign in the world media to spew out their lies for a whole day.

The BBC falsely reported yesterday that the Turkish passengers were peace activists and quoted the leader, a Ms Berlin as saying that they were unarmed and had put up only passive resistance but the IDF came in with guns blazing and murdered the passengers. The BBC however made the mistake of showing a video clip that clearly shows an IDF soldier being beaten by at least two men with clubs. When they realise their mistake, I'm sure they'll quickly edit that out.

The BBC website reports today about the IDF video (see below):

"The BBC's Wyre Davies describes how the Israeli army has released a video which it claims shows the violence on board as it boarded the flotilla. "

What does the BBC mean by saying that the IDF "claim" it shows violence? Why does Wyre Davies have to decscribe the release of the video? The video is primary evidence and clearly shows what happened. There is no ambiguity about it.

Surprisingly, The Daily Telegraph site is worse than the BBC in its reporting using classic pro-Islamic terrorist propaganda techniques. (See here). What the terrorist "peace" activists say is reported as facts where as anything Israel says are just allegations and claims!

"[Israeli] Government ministers defended the actions of its troops fiercely after the pre-dawn raid, alleging they had come under attack from violent forces allied to Hamas, Islamic Jihad and al-Qaeda. "

"Two of the dead activists had fired at soldiers with pistols, the army also claimed."
But supporters across the world condemned the attack on a "peaceful mission".

"The Free Gaza Movement, one of the organisers of the flotilla, said the IDF had started the violence, firing as soon as they boarded the ship."

Here is a snapshot of one of these peace activists, taken just before the IDF arrived:

The knife was recovered by the IDF and appears again along with other peaceful items in an IDF photo below.

The British government's reaction to this? It is to reward terrorism!

William Hague, the foreign secretary said: "I call on the Government of Israel to open the crossings to allow unfettered access for aid to Gaza".

In other words, he is telling Israel that Her Majesty's government believes that Jewish lives are valueless and that Israel has no right to defend its own citizens by restricting produce which Hamas are using to produce weapons.

But as these photos show, these Turkish terrorists were prepared for a fight with molotov coctails, metal bars, clubs, knives and guns.

Subject: What happened on the coast of Gaza?

I am disgusted and dismayed. Not by the actions of the Israeli Navy, but by the silence (so far) of our leaders who are supposed to explain to the world what is going on.

The information below comes from my son who serves in the Navy and has just arrived home from Ashdod.

We realized that the flotilla of ships trying to reach Gaza was a provocation. No one realized how heavily they were armed.

Five of the ships were boarded by the naval commando in the early hours of this morning and surrendered without resistance. The ships were taken to Ashdod, and the food they were carrying will be sent to Gaza, which as we know receives daily supplies of food, electricity and other essentials from the “Zionist entity” it refuses to recognize.

When the commando boarded the sixth ship, the Marmara, they faced armed resistance. The gunmen – many of whom were clearly prepared to be “shahidin” , martyrs – jumped on them in an organized lynch and started to stab them and beat them with clubs, knives and metal poles. After they grabbed one of our soldiers and threw him overboard, and started shooting the other soldiers with his rifle, they had no alternative but to open fire to protect themselves. In such a situation, it is surprising there were so few casualties. About ten IDF soldiers were injured, some seriously. My son will start his day tomorrow visiting one of them, a former schoolmate, at Tel Hashomer hospital , before returning to Ashdod.

If any proof were needed of the “peaceful” intentions of the passengers of the ships, or at least this one, we received a very clear picture.

Please pass this on to whoever might be willing to listen to the truth!

Kol hakavod (kudos) to our soldiers and refuah shelemah (a speedy recovery) to the wounded.

Here is the IDF video showing the beatings:

Who is worse? The BBC or The New York Times?

The New York Times must have been in a real panic having to face the possibility of reporting something positive about Israel but of course our own Israel's loony-left comes to their rescue. They give the newspaper enough fodder to feel justified in proclaiming:

"For Israelis, Mixed Feelings on Aid Effort"

Israel feels a mixture of pride and deep shame apparently over Haiti. How so?

The article comments:

Many commentators argued that the work in Haiti was a reflection of a central Jewish value. Michael Freund, a columnist in The Jerusalem Post, wrote on Thursday, “Though a vast gulf separates Israel from Haiti, with more than 10,500 kilometers of ocean lying between us, the Jewish people demonstrated that their extended hand can bridge any gap and traverse any chasm when it comes to saving lives.”

But on the same page, another commentator, Larry Derfner, argued that while Israel’s field hospital in Haiti is a reflection of something deep in the nation’s character, “so is everything that’s summed up in the name of ‘Gaza.’ ” He wrote: “It’s the Haiti side of Israel that makes the Gaza side so inexpressibly tragic. And more and more, the Haiti part of the national character has been dwarfed by the Gaza part.”
Early in the week, Akiva Eldar, a leftist commentator and reporter with the newspaper Haaretz, made a similar point: “The remarkable identification with the victims of the terrible tragedy in distant Haiti only underscores the indifference to the ongoing suffering of the people of Gaza.”

Read the full article here if your stomach can take it:

Akiva Eldar is a paid up member of the loony-left. To give you an example of just how left leaning this guy is, he still supports the failed Oslo agreement. He is considered left-wing even by Haaretz standards and this is the person The New York Times chose to quote.

As for Larry Derfner. Anyone who regularly reads The Jerusalem Post knows that good old Larry is their court jester. His weekly piece is entitled "Rattling the cage" and there is a big question as to whether he actually believes all the crazy nutty things he writes. He is probably simply playing devil's advocate in order to invoke angry feedback comments and get people foaming at the mouth. Just a quick look at the comments on the article quoted in The New York Times and you'll get the picture.

Larry's article here.

The talkbacks point out the obvious which is that it's obscene to compare innocent Haitians trapped under rubble to Palestinian terrorists trapped in tunnels and bunkers, designed and built to murder Israelis.

It shows the desperate position that The New York Times found them selves in, having to resort to quoting Larry.

The bottom line is that the reporting that Israel is bemoaning the fact that they did not help the poor Palestinians is a figment of the imagination of the loony-left and an outright lie to report it as fact.

I'm not sure which is worse; the total silence of the BBC or the outright lies of The New York Times. Comments anyone?

More evidence of Auntie Beeb's Anti-Semitism - Israel and Haiti

First of all a big "hat tip" to fellow frum ex-Brit blogger Living and Writing in Israel for her latest post entitled "Rolls Royce of Field Hospitals". It's a great piece about the Israel Field Hospital in Haiti. As she says, it’s a tremendous Kiddush Hashem. Please see her media links. One was to a Daily Telegraph blog by American writer Stephanie Gutman which was hilariously tongue-in-cheek. This fact however seems to have escaped many of the Brit's talkbacks who somehow took her seriously. Perhaps this is a case of American humour going over the British heads rather than the other way round for a change.

Also a must read is Melanie Phillips' excellent blog post in The Spectator entitled "A disproportionate response?" I suggest you read the whole piece but I couldn't help copying and pasting her closing statement:

Israel sent a team of 220 aid workers. Israel has a population of six million. The population of Britain is 60 million. I’d say that was a disproportionate Israeli response, wouldn’t you?”

They say that pictures are worth a 1000 words. These are the results from a search of +"israeli field hospital" +haiti on the CNN News site:

13 results, all of which feature prominently Israel's incredible rescue efforts in Haiti.

And now let's do the same search on the BBC News site, "The No.1 most respected, most comprehensive and most believed News site in the world" .

One entry! Actually it's no entries because looking in that entry you find that it's not even a news article! It’s a collection of short eye-witness reports from Haiti. Two of the eye-witnesses mention the Israeli's presence. Apart from that, Israel's rescue team is "Judenfrei" from Auntie Beeb's site. We've known for a long time that the BBC has an automatic pro-Israel news filter with the radio button permanently set to "Block". With all the world’s media reporting on the IDF’s field hospital in Haiti, is there any other explanation besides an editorial policy of anti-Semitism, for this astonishing news blackout at the BBC?

I'll finish with a wonderful quote from one of Melanie Phillips' talkback comments (I assume also tongue-in-cheek?. At least I hope so):
